UPCOMING EVENTS


November 30th
9-Mile Community: Craft Fair /Turkey Shoot Saturday
Craft Fair 10-3PM Turkey Shoot 10-2:00 PM. 
The annual community shoot is anticipated to be another well attended event. Men and women compete with 1 shot at 25-35 yards for a turkey. The $5 per shot event is a fund raiser for the 9 Mile Community Center.  If you are interested in volunteering your time for the day, contact Matt Denison (822-8778) or Mike Tomell (626-4702) for more details and direction.
 
It is a beautiful drive and a great place to start some Holiday gift buying!
 
2014 Annual Membership Renewal Is Coming!
It’s time again for the annual membership sign up.
December newsletter will have your membership form which is due by December 31st.
Fees remain the same as in years past:

January Hivernant meeting is where you can elect the 2014 officers and get involved in the club. Start thinking about new ideas and what club activities you may want for the coming year. President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer as well as Wildhorse Booshway will be voted on. Nominations are open to all club members (over 18 years old)

3 rd Annual Public Days Blackpowder Shooting Event

The Hellgate Civilian Shooting Association is hosting the Sapphire Mountain men re-enactors at a public day at the Hellgate Shooting Range, Bonner, MT. The Saturday event from 11 am to 4 pm will have historical displays of the western trapper era of American history.

Come and try your skill at shooting a musket, throwing a tomahawk! Smell the coffee
roasted on the fire and try some hardtack.
Demonstrations and active participation is open to the public for this great glimpse into
American history.

31st Annual Wildhorse Rendezvous

Wildhorse Rendezvous
Memorial Day Weekend May 25-28, 2012
Competition starts Friday at noon, camp opens Friday morning for set up.

Pre 1840 mountian man rendezvous with black powder shooting
Rifle, pistol, smoothbore
Tomahawk and knife throwing, primitive archery and Cannon shoot.

Primitive dress encouraged.

Camp fee $30, shooter fee $5 and blanket prize.

About the Club

The Sapphire Mountain Men Shooting Club promotes safe use of muzzle loading firearms of the pre 1840’s era for historic interest.

The club works toward developing accurate period representations, honesty, fellowship, good sportsmanship, and patriotism.

The club sponsors the Wildhorse Rendezvous every Memorial Day weekend.

The Wildhorse Rendezvous has been held in Cyr, MT on forest service land for over 10 years.

Competition in rifle, pistol and smoothbore are held near the Saw Mill Gultch meadow. The reenactors range from full primitive camps to first timers (pilgrims). The camp is open to the public.
